When Allie and I sat down with Sami and she told us that she and Sean had dated for over sixteen years, we were floored. Wow—what an amazing story. We were so thankful and honored to be the ones to document the culmination of such a long courtship. Our day started at the eclectic SLS Hotel at Beverly Hills where we were given special access to photograph in the White Room, lobby and other unique areas of the hotel. We then traveled across town to Vibiana for the ceremony and reception. Sami and Sean spared no expense: from the florals and linens to the sushi, traditional Persian foods and dessert; to the entertainment – it was an extravagant night.
I wrote about this before and I must repeat it again: there is nothing like a Persian wedding. When Sami walked down the aisle, there were over 300 guests on their feet cheering and clapping. When they made their grand entrance, the dancing lasted for several hours into the night, a real marathon. When I got home late that night, my new socks had holes in them from the rigors of jumping up and down for hours, photographing all of the dancing.
Our clients are some of the most special people, and Sami was no exception. Throughout the entire twelve hour day, she seemed as if she was more concerned about our well-being than herself: making sure we were eating, hydrating, etc. Who does that? More, what bride on her wedding day does that? Thanks Sami! We love you!
