Allie and I are so honored to be featured in the latest issue of Destination Weddings & Honeymoons Magazine. As photographers who pride ourselves on our destination work, it is quite humbling to be featured in the only publication dedicated to global destination weddings. Think about it. There are hundreds of wedding magazines, each one dedicated to a specific type of wedding, price point, or regional area. Destination Weddings & Honeymoons Magazine is the only periodical dedicated to bride and grooms who are married in all parts of the world.

Congratulations to our BEAUTIFUL couple, Behishta and Juan Pablo for being featured. They were married on a mango plantation in the middle of the Colombian jungle. Now that the magazine article is published, we can blog about their wedding! So stay tuned for their amazing wedding highlights.

JetSet Magazine is Colombia’s leading society publication. We are so happy to be asked to show our images in the magazine. Especially when you consider the fact that there were several paparazzi in attendance, as well as the publisher of the magazine. We were later asked to dine at the publisher’s house, or should I say compound? That evening is a whole other blog post, or book altogether. Allie, Aberdeen and I flew to Hawaii last month to photograph a three-day wedding celebration. I took this photo on the day before the rehearsal dinner. It is a 15-second exposure.  It is difficult to tell, but it was almost dark when I took this. The photo below is the result of combining 5 differently exposed images of the same scene, and combining them with HDR software.

Allie and I have been coming to the Viceroy Palm Springs multiple times over the last few years. It is one of our favorite places to go in the summer because of the heat. There is no one is at the pool, no one is at the golf courses, the rooms are inexpensive and there is a dedicated family pool – which happens to be the biggest and most comfortable. (Do not worry kid-less friends, there are 2 other pools to choose from, high-heels optional)

We are here for Allison’s Birthday (April 7). She deserves pool and massage time, and maybe some outlet time at the Desert Hills Premium Outlets.  Also, this is our first trip with Abbie, she is almost 2 months old.

Our recommendation: Ask for 108 or 109 by the Regency Pool – they are our favorite rooms.

Brian and I discovered the Korakia when I was pregnant with Aberdeen. This Moroccan and Mediterranean-inspired villa (there are two sides to the resort) in Palm Springs became our secret romantic hide-a-way, where we’d escape for the ultimate relaxing vacation. There are no TV’s or phones in the rooms and no restaurant or bar on the grounds. This means that you can actually relax, and let the blood pressure drop 20 points.

Seriously, think about it : no phone, no TV – nothing to do all day but lounge in the pool. Nothing to do at night except watch a movie outside on the moonlight. (OK, there is one HUGE TV outside, but it is only put up at night, and they only show old Black and White French movies – Beauty and the Beast in subtitles has been on every time we have gone).

Nothing beats sitting outside in a lounge chair, in the moonlight, in your swim suit, watching an old B&W French film, with your husband – nothing!

There pool is known for being one of the top five sexiest pools in America and the resort was called One of the Sexiest Hotels in America by the New York Times.

If you ever need a quick escape from the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles, this is the place! Your heart will thank you for it!
