Brandi and Zach are like most of our clientele: traditional with a twist. Their wedding was a traditional Jewish ceremony, that took place in the ruins of the Fox Theatre in Fullerton, California. The Fox Theatre was built over 80 years ago and was once the Mecca for Orange County Movie-goers, until it’s close in 1987. Since then it has fallen into decay and disarray. Recently, renovation has begun to transform this California landmark back into the palace it once was. But it is hardly close to being finished. It was, and still is, a construction site.

Somehow Brandi and Zach talked the Fullerton Historic Theatre Foundation to let them get married here.  This was a first—no one has ever been married in this building. Allie and I were ecstatic to be the first ones to photograph a Fox Theatre wedding, especially when you consider the challenge, and the abundance of photographic opportunities.

It was the perfect place to celebrate the marriage of a couple who share a fondness for old movies and that era, and who were once entertained by the same Fox Theatre movie screen when they were kids, many years ago.
