FEATURED ENGAGEMENTS: In the Mood For Love

Debbie and Ernest share a love for the Chinese movie, In The Mood for Love. They wanted an engagement inspired by the movie. So they rented costumes and props. Allison and I secured the venues: Oviatt Penthouse and Cicada. The outside photos are in the surrounding alleys. It is important to note that we are going to make real vintage movie posters with the photos to display at their wedding.

I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE Callaway Gable.Where do I even start?!Chet and I got married exactly a month ago and we could not be happier with our photographer. Brian was fun, comfortable to be around and absolutely brilliant. Allie couldn’t shoot because she just had a baby but she was definitely there in spirit.I am generally terrified of cameras and have avoided them my entire life. This is actually an understatement and I am not sure how to explain how much I truly hate the camera. Let me try: Chet and I have been together for over 6 years and prior to the engagement and wedding photos, he did not have one single photo of me. I have passed on professional/industry wide awards and acknowledgments because I refused to submit a photo with my achievements. Prior to the engagement and wedding photos, if I died, my family would probably have to use a baby picture or my driver’s license picture for the photo at my funeral. That’s how bad I was/am.With that said, I was totally nervous about the engagement and wedding photos. Actually, I dreaded it. I was almost as nervous about the photos as I was walking down the aisle (I wasn’t nervous about getting married, I was nervous about being the center of attention). However, Brian changed all of that.Out of every vendor we hired and/or came into contact with during the whole, very long and tedious, wedding planning process, Brian was our favorite. Handsdown. He made me feel comfortable and our photos turned out amazing. In addition to being fun and brilliant, Brian was also completely professional in handling all the details from contracts to always being punctual. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate everything being clear and detailed with him and Callaway Gable. Some of the vendors we worked with refused to put things in writing which was very difficult for me because I am a contract person. Not only did Brian have a short and concise contract for us to use as a guideline, he was more than accommodating in fine tuning his contract to our needs. All of our friends and family really enjoyed Brian’s company and they also love his work. He felt more like a good friend at the wedding than a vendor, but of course, he was also able to deliver. As far as pricing, Callaway Gable is worth every single penny. In fact, I think Callaway Gable could get away with charging a lot more than they currently do. Knowing what I know now, I would absolutely pay double, even triple for Callaway Gable if that were their going rate. We really researched our photographers before we decided on Callaway Gable so save your time and take my word for it. You will not be disappointed.Lastly, Brian was extremely prompt in getting the photos back to us. We shot our engagement shoot on a Saturday and he emailed us all the shots the next day (even with Allie having to go to the hospital because they thought she was going into labor!!). With our actual wedding photos, Brian got all of our photos uploaded (close to 2000) in less than a week!!We also met Allie and would have loved to have her shoot our wedding. However, the timing didn’t work because she just gave birth to their second child. If that isn’t a good reason, then I don’t know what is!!Btw, Chet and Brian were playing air guitars together within 15 minutes into our first meeting. Allie and I just looked at each other with a shared understanding of both acceptance and adoration for our guys. It was just so easy to bond with Allie and Brian. I am 100% certain that you will love them too!
