DOWNTOWN LAS VEGAS ENGAGEMENT

Binion’s Casino and Gambling Hall
128 Fremont St,
Las Vegas, NV 89101

Our close friend and wedding client, Alexandra Rembac of Sterling Engagements, has always dreamt of a glamorous old-Hollywood inspired engagement session in Las Vegas. Hello! This is what Allie and I live for. After all, our youngest girl is named Frankie (after Sinatra) and our oldest girl’s middle name is Gable (after Clark Gable).

Our first challenge was to figure out where in Vegas to shoot. Much of Las Vegas is new and does not fit with a vintage 1940’s photo shoot, except for downtown Las Vegas. Perfect! Now, how do we get access to a casino? My good friend Paul Vato owns a cigar shop in the world famous Binion’s Casino (former home of the World Poker Tour). It’s called Vato Cigars, and he rolls and makes his own cigars! Somehow he managed to get the owners to give us unprecedented access to photograph all over the casino. To Paul and everyone at Binion’s: thank you very much for your kindness. We couldn’t have produced this without you. Allie and I realize how big of a favor this was – thanks again!!

By the way, if you want to have a cigar rolling station at your wedding or next event, you must call Paul and Sarah. Not only are the cigars amazing, Paul and Sarah are two of the funniest people I know and will have your guests laughing all night. Go to Vato Cigars.com. And, we used Paul in a few of the shots – look below – he is hilarious!

Next time you are in Vegas, check out Binion’s – the Poker room hasn’t changed, and the odds are better than in the newer part of Las Vegas!

Back to the shoot, one of Jonathan’s best friends and groomsmen works in Hollywood stylizing TV and movies. In fact, his family owns Western Costume – the world’s oldest and largest costume company. So Alex and Jonathan grabbed several outifts from the 1940’s. And finally, Alex had her hair and makeup styled in that period. This shoot is a great example of what can be done when a client really takes the time and effort to plan their engagement shoot. It is also represents what Allie and I are all about: going above and beyond to make our clients personal and poignant imagery that they and their family will enjoy for years. ENJOY! And, look below for what Alex sent us for her inspiration!
