CHRIST THE REDEEMER

Considered one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue is a symbol for Christians in Brazil and around the world.

In October, the Callaway Gable team flew to Rio de Janiero in Brazil to photograph the wedding of Guy O’Seary and his wife Michelle. Guy is mostly known for being Madonna and U2’s Manager. It was an incredible couple of days in one of the most amazing places in the world. Guy and Michelle are private, so I cannot discuss any details or share any photos. What I can do is share the photographs that Guy has shared on his public Instagram feed, and what he released to the Brazilian press. Special thanks to the ladies who helped me make the Callaway Gable dream team: Lauren Belknap and Erum Rizvi, and Allison at home for logistics and planning. The photos below are from all three photographers.

Everyone asked when I got back how I liked Rio and Brazil. I answer that it was amazing, perhaps one of the most beautiful parts of the world – from what I saw. Like many of our destination weddings, our team didn’t have any time to explore due to our schedules. We like to call ourselves Seal Team Six – we’re in and we’re out. So, for an hour or so on the final day, while waiting for the car to take me back to the airport, I sat on the Copacabana Beach. Sipping on a beer, or two, I watched the locals on the beach as they strolled, sunbathed and played xxx, a mashup of soccer and volleyball.

Hopefully someday soon I will be asked back. Brazil, I promise, if that happens, I will take more time to explore – that is, unless I am on a mission for Seal Team Six.
